Ford Motability

The Motability scheme is designed to help disabled people become mobile again by assisting with leasing a car or powered wheelchair and falls under the government-funded Motability allowance.  Essentially customers exchange their given allowance for a Motability package which consists of:

  • A choice of over 2000 cars
  • Over 300 are completely covered by your allowance
  • Insurance, tax, car servicing and maintenance are included
  • Full breakdown cover
  • Tyre and windscreen cover
  • Car adaptations

You can qualify for the car Motability scheme if you receive the higher rate Motability component of the disability living allowance or the War Pensioners’ Motability supplement. The scheme will allow you to purchase a new car via the Motability scheme simply and easily! There are dealerships all across the UK that support the scheme including Peoples Ford Edinburgh Ltd in Scotland.

The Motability scheme offers a wide range of cars that you can choose from and you will be able to find a car that suits your preferences and needs. In fact, there are over 300 cars that you can choose from that are covered within your allowance and over 100 that actually cost less than your weekly allowance allowing you to spend the extra as you wish! Also, under the scheme you can nominate up to two other drivers to drive on your behalf.

The lease for each car lasts three years and all everything mentioned above is included for the full lease term. Currently over half a million people use the Ford Motability scheme to help them gain more freedom and become more mobile and an impressive 97% of people would recommend the scheme.
